ANGELS CAMP, Calif. (Feb. 15, 2026) — Martha Miller, member of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association since 1990 and a Yosemite icon, passed away Feb. 11, according to her friend, Shirley Kimball. She was 96.
Miller’s most productive California-bred was graded winner Harlington’s Rose. She also raced stakes winner Kessem Power, who later stood in California.
Miller also served as one of the longest tenured employees of Yosemite National Park.
Last year she was the subject of a documentary, “Meet Martha Miller,” a film that followed her journey from Tuolumne Meadows Lodge to her influential tenures at The Ahwahnee Hotel and Badger Pass, as well as a distinguished career in opera production and racing.
