AUBURN, Wash. (Aug. 11, 2021) – Multiple stakes winner Daffodil Sweet and fellow California-bred Getting Sideways are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Emerald Distaff Handicap for fillies and mares at Emerald Downs.
Getting Sideways is by Grazen, out of the Thunder Gulch mare Striking Point, was bred by Nick Alexander, is owned by Glyn Kelly and Anne MacLennan and trained by Dan Markle. She has five wins in 31 starts, earnings of $213,921 and is coming off second in a July 24 allowance.
Daffodil Sweet is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Lion Heart mare Easy On My Heart, was bred by Michael Terry, is owned by One Horse Will Do Corp. and Steve Shimizu and is trained by Chris Stenslie. She has six wins in eight starts, earnings of $105,158 and is coming off a win in a July 24 allowance.
