TAMPA, Fla. (Dec. 16, 2015) – Desert Steel is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Lightning City Stakes for fillies and mares at Tampa Bay Downs.
Desert Steel is by Desert Code, out of the Cozzene mare Lujien Lujien, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Alice Bamford, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Michael House and is trained by Jonathan Thomas.
She has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $223,692 and is coming off a win in a Nov. 22 optional claimer.
