ALBANY, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2021) – Stakes winner Dr Pescado is one of four California-breds entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Gold Rush Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.
Bandera Azteca is by Danzing Candy, out of the Holy Bull mare Seaside Sanctuary, was bred by owner Agustin Velazquez and is trained by Victor Trujillo. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $24,620 and is coming off an 11th in the Nov. 5 Golden State Juvenile.
Stanford Bay is by Stanford, out of the Ministers Wild Cat mare Curvy Cat, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jonathan Wong. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of $61,350 and is coming off a second in the Nov. 13 Golden Nugget.
Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Dimmi Quando is by Shaman Ghost, out of the Bushwacker mare Wackey Logic, was bred by Terry Lovingier and is owned by Daniel Franko. The $2,500 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has one win in four starts, earnings of $24,884 and is coming off a fifth in a Nov. 6 optional claimer.
Dr Pescado is by Fullbridled, out of the Peppered Cat mare Sweetly Peppered, was bred by Juan Heredia and is owned by Ruben Arechiga and trainer Felix Rondan. He has two wins in three starts, earnings of $59,668 and is coming off a win in the Nov. 13 Golden Nugget.
