ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2021) – California-breds Finneus and Joker Boy are entered in Friday’s $300,000 Grade I American Pharoah Stakes for 2-year-olds at Santa Anita.
The Grade I-placed Finneus is by Stay Thirsty, out of the Ghostzapper mare My Fiona, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Lovingier, Fasihuddin or Navarro and is trained by Walther Solis. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $146,116 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 6 Runhappy Del Mar Futurity Sept. 6.
Unbeaten Joker Boy is the Practical Joke, out of the Dixieland Band mare Bandora, was bred by Premier Thoroughbreds, is owned by Brown, Klein or Lebherz and is trained by Brian Koriner. He has won both starts with earnings of $99,000 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 4 I’m Smokin.
