Five Cal-breds Pre-enter Breeders’ Cup

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 21, 2015) — Five California-breds are pre-entered for the 2015 Breeders’ Cup World Championships, to be held next weekend at Keeneland.
Three Cal-breds are pre-entered for the $1.5 million, Grade I TwinSpires Sprint – Big Macher, Masochistic and Jimmy Bouncer, who also has second preference in the Grade I Sprint Turf.
Also pre-entered are Warren’s Veneda in the $2 million Grade I Longines Distaff and Ralis in the $2 million Grade I Sentient Jet Juvenile. Ralis also has second preference in the Grade I Juvenile Turf.
Big Macher is by Beau Genius, out of the Kris S. mare Insight, was bred by Ballena Vista Farm, is owned by Tom Mansor and Tachycardia Stables and is trained by Richard Baltas. He has seven wins in 17 starts, earnings of $684,038 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 7 Pirate’s Bounty. He is a Grade I winner who finished ninth in last year’s Xpressbet Breeders’ Cup Sprint at Santa Anita.
Masochistic is by Sought After, out of the Unusual Heat mare Trotinette, was bred by Francoise Dupuis and Louise Julian, is owned by Los Pollos Hermanos Racing and Jay Em Ess Stable and is trained by Ron Ellis. He has six wins in 10 starts, earnings of $601,850 and is coming off a fourth in the Oct. 3 Santa Anita Sprint Championship. He is a Grade I winner.
Jimmy Bouncer is by Square Eddie, out of the General Meeting mare Meetmeinthewoods, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has four wins in six starts, earnings of $203,050 and is coming off a fourth in the Oct. 3 Eddie D. Stakes. He seeks his first stakes win.
Warren’s Veneda is by Affirmative, out of the Flying Continental mare More Cal Bread, was bred by owner Benjamin Warren and is trained by Craig Lewis. She has eight wins in 27 starts, earnings of $931,862 and is coming off a seventh in the Sept. 26 Zenyatta. She is a Grade I winner.
Ralis is by Square Eddie, out of the Ten Most Wanted mare Silar Rules, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of $272,323 and is coming off a sixth in the Oct. 3 Champagne Stakes. He is a Grade I winner.
Also pre-entered in the Sprint is Salutos Amigos, a Kentucky-bred son of California stallion Salute the Sarge and a multiple Grade III winner who was seventh in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint last year.
