LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 7, 2023) – California-bred Grade I winners Fun to Dream and Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Ceiling Crusher were included in the spending spree at Tuesday night’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale.
Fun to Dream, the Cal-bred Horse of the Year in 2022, sold for $1.9 million to Japan’s K I Farm. Consigned by Hill ‘N’ Dale at Xalapa, Fun to Dream sold as a broodmare prospect. By Arrogate, out of the Maria’s Mon mare Lutess, she was bred by Connie Pageler and Bob Baffert, was owned by Natalie Baffert and Pageler and trained by Bob Baffert.
A half-sister to multiple stakes winner Heck Yeah, the 4-year-old Fun to Dream won the Grade I La Brea Stakes and the Grade II Santa Monica Stakes, with six wins and earnings of $670,190.
Ceiling Crusher sold for $750,000 to Katsumi Yoshida. She is by Mr. Big, out of the mare Palisadesprincess, was bred by Harris Farms, was owned Wonderland Racing Stable, Todd Cady, Tim Kasparoff and Ty Leatherman and was trained by Doug O’Neill.
Consigned by Taylor Made Sales, agent, the $22,000 purchase out of the Harris Farms consignment at the Northern California Yearling Sale had six wins in seven starts and earnings of $938,400. She won the Grade I Cotillion and the Grade III Torrey Pines. She sold as a racing or broodmare prospect.
