VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (July 29, 2019) – Gold Fleece, dam of California-bred graded stakes winner Stoney Fleece, passed away at Oak Creek Farm. She was 31.
The Maryland-bred graded-stakes winner, by Preakness winner Deputed Testamony, also was the dam of Grade III winner Golden Rahy.
Stoney Fleece, bred by Joseph Alvarez III, won the Grade III Generous Stakes in 2011, as well as the listed Alcatraz Stakes in 2012, with total earnings of $600,028.
Gold Fleece was the dam of a remarkable nine winners from nine starters and a sweet mare to be around. Gold Fleece was foaled on Feb. 23, 1988.
