ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 4, 2015) – Stakes winner Gold Rush Dancer and Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Gunslinger Rules are among the entries in Saturday’s $50,000 Golden Nugget Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.
Gunslinger Rules is by Run Brother Ron, out of the Bertrando mare Thrillofalifetime, was bred by George and Mary Clare Schmitt, is owned by Mary Jo Bright and trained by Wendell McDaniel. The $3,000 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has two wins in six starts, earnings of $30,745 and is coming off a starter’s allowance win Oct. 25.
Gold Rush Dancer is by Private Gold, out of the In Excess mare Dances On Water, was bred by owner John Parker and is trained by Candi Tollet. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $74,093 and is coming off a win in the Sept. 27 Gottstein Futurity.
Algenon is a Kentucky-bred sired by California stallion Aragorn, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Alpine Yodel, was bred by owner Rozamund Barkley and is trained by Len Kasmerski. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $47,200 and is coming off a win in a Sept. 19 optional claimer.
