DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 2, 2015) – Graded winners Harlington’s Rose and Home Journey are among five California-breds entered in Thursday’s $80,000 Daisycutter Handicap for fillies and mares at Del Mar.
Mark of a Gem is by Benchmark, out of the Cee’s Tizzy mare Tiz a Gem, was bred by River Edge Farm, is owned by Richard Pasko and trained by Tim Yakteen. She has three wins in 13 starts, earnings of $157,500 and is coming off a seventh in a June 11 optional claimer.
Lucky Mo is by McCann’s Mojave, out of the Poteen mare Crilly Now, was bred by owner Robert McCabe Family Trust and is trained by Martine Bellocq. She has one win in six starts, earnings of $14,870 and is coming off a fifth in a July 26 claimer.
Our Pure Creation is by Pure Prize, out of the Smart Strike mare Creative Karen, was bred by owner Joe Parker and trained by Val Brinkerhoff. She has four wins in 11 starts, earnings of $175,596 and is making her first start since a fifth in last year’s Daisycutter.
Harlington’s Rose is by Harlington, out of the Orientate mare A Rose for You, was bred by Y-Lo Racing Stables, is owned by Halasz, Johnson, Newhart, Miller et al and is trained by Steve Knapp. She has four wins in 24 starts, earnings of $374,540 and is coming off a sixth in the July 11 Great Lady M.
Home Journey is by Good Journey, out of the Came Home mare Goodtobehome, was bred by Mark and Daryle Ann Giordino and John Elick, is owned by GGG Stables and Russell Sarno and trained by Mike Puype. She has five wins in 13 starts, earnings of $300,120 and is coming off a second in the May 22 Mizdirection.
