ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 1, 2014) – Stakes winner Heat Du Jour and fellow California-bred Kathleen Rose are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Swingtime Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.
Heat Du Jour is by Unusual Heat, out of the Half a Year mare Style of the Year, was bred by Madeline Auerbach, is owned by Jerry Hollendorfer, Mark Schlaich and George Todaro and is trained by Hollendorfer. She has five wins in 24 starts, earnings of $256,998 and is coming off a fifth in the Sept. 1 Yellow Ribbon.
Kathleen Rose is by Good Journey, out of the Decarchy mare Cantina’s Rose, was bred by owner B & B Zietz Stable and is trained by Mike Machowsky. She has five wins in 11 starts, earnings of $289,540 and is coming off a third in the Aug. 17 Solana Beach.
