ALBANY, Calif. (Apr. 28, 2019) – Irish Heatwave won Sunday’s $100,000 Silky Sullivan Stakes for Golden State Series eligible 3-year-olds in a blanket finish at Golden Gate.
Irish Heatwave is by Unusual Heat, out of the Broken Vow mare Irish Winnie, was bred by Moger Inc. & Neary Racing, is owned by Calumet Farm and trained by J.K. Desormeaux.
He ran the mile on turf in 1:36.60 and won by a nose over Our Silver Oak at odds of 5-2, with Lieutenant Dan another nose back in the field of 10.
