DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2020) – California-bred stakes winners Irish Heatwave and Mikes Tiznow are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Grade III Green Flash Handicap at Del Mar.
Irish Heatwave is by Unusual Heat, out of the Broken Vow mare Irish Winnie, was bred by Moger Inc. & Neary Racing, is owned by GNO Racing Club, Aldabbagh or Ouriel, et al and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has four wins in 18 starts, earnings of $247,480 and is coming off a sixth in the July 26 California Dreamin’.
Mikes Tiznow is by Slew’s Tiznow, out of the Maria’s Mon mare Babes Bridge It, was bred by Eagle Ridge Racing, is owned by Mike Schott and trained by Andy Mathis. He has five wins in nine starts, earnings of $197,005 and is coming off a back-to-back wins in the Albany Stakes one year apart.
Also entered in Baja Sur, a Washington-bred son of California stallion Smiling Tiger, who has five wins in nine starts with earnings of $156,520.
