CYPRESS, Calif. (July 2, 2021) – Progeny of California first-year stallion Stanford won both maiden special weight races for 2-year-old fillies at Los Alamitos on Friday when Carmen Miranda took the first race and Drizella the fourth race.
Carmen Miranda, out of the Tribal Rule mare Miranda Rose, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and trained by Phil D’Amato. She ran the five furlongs in :58.48 and won by a length in a field of seven.
Drizella, out of the Royal Applause mare Tinderella, was bred by Magee-Wolfson, is owned by William Peeples and trained by Luis Mendez. She ran the five furlongs in :57.95 and won by one-half length in a field of seven.
