COALINGA, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2018) – California-bred Jetinwith Kennedy, a multiple stakes winner and the 2005 California Broodmare of the Year, was euthanized at the age of 29 at Harris Farms on Monday.
Jetinwith Kennedy, a daughter of Kennedy Road, out of the Blue Eyed Davy mare Blue Jet Set, was bred by owner Sidney Factor and won four of 12 starts with earnings of $103,328. Among her wins were the 1992 Las Ninas Stakes at Fairplex Park and the 1993 Karandebs Big Kat Stakes at Golden Gate.
She was sold to former CTBA director Joan Rogers at the 2000 Barretts January Mixed Sale for $17,000 in foal to Apollo and went on to foal 13 thoroughbreds, the most accomplished being Jet West, who won seven of 22 starts with earnings of $554,345. Jetinwith Kennedy was named the 2005 California Broodmare of the Year by CTBA.
Jet West, bred by Rogers’ Applebite Farms, was a graduate of the CTBA Del Mar Yearling Sale. His biggest win was the 2005 California Cup Sprint, but his biggest payday was a third-place finish in the 2006 Gulf News Dubai Golden Shaheen.
Jetinwith Kennedy also foaled multiple stakes winners Jetin Excess and Triumphant Flight and stakes winner Jetinto Houston.
