King Glorious is Hollywood Park’s Final Stakes

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (Dec. 19, 2013) – Stakes-winning highweights Alpine Luck, Aotearoa and Better Bet are part of an 11-horse field entered in Sunday’s $200,000 King Glorious Stakes for Golden State Eligible 2-year-olds, the final stakes race at Betfair Hollywood Park.

Smoove It is by Square Eddie, out of the Distorted Humor mare Smoove, was bred by J. Paul Reddam, is owned by Reddam Racing and trained by Doug O’Neill. He has one win in five starts, earnings of $58,510 and is coming off a second in a Nov. 22 allowance.

Pray Hard is by Kafwain, out of the Songandaprayer mare Unbridled Prayer, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has earnings of $62,100 and is coming off a maiden win in his fifth start.

Ghost of Harrenhal is by Singletary, out of the Free House mare Special Smoke, was bred by C Punch Ranch, is owned by Mark Mandala, Mike Peterson, Joseph Schneider and Helen Meredith and is trained by Derek Meredith. He is coming off a maiden win in his second start with earnings of $19,620.

Mass Transit is by City Zip, out of the General Meeting mare Young Ladies Day, was bred by Fleming Thoroughbred Farm & Dorothee Kieckhefer, is owned by Blinkers On Racing Stable, Roncelli Family Trust, Roney, Dent, Georgetti, et al and is trained by Peter Miller. He is coming off a maiden win in his second start with earnings of $27,250.

Alpine Luck is by Lucky J. H., out of the Swiss Yodeler mare I Can Yodele, was bred by owner Heinz Steinmann and is trained by Mike Harrington. He has two wins in eight start, earnings of $162,284 and is coming off an eighth in the Nov. 2 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint.

Tizoutasight is by Tiz Wonderful, out of the Alydeed mare Alyceptional, was bred by Barbara Millard, is owned by J K Racing and is trained by Craig Dollase. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $41,610 and is coming off a fourth in a Dec. 5 claiming race.

Convoy is by Siberian Summer, out of the Saratoga Six mare Sweet Femme, was bred by Rhianon Farms and Don Smith, is owned by Rhianon Farms and Gloria Haley and is trained by Haley. He is a maiden making his fifth start with earnings of $7,125.

California Chrome is by Lucky Pulpit, out of the Not For Love mare Love the Chase, was bred by owners Martin Perry and Steven Coburn and is trained by Art Sherman. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of $104,850 and is coming off a sixth in the Nov. 1 Golden State Juvenile.

Aotearoa is by Good Journey, out of the Lil Tyler mare Madera Royal, was bred by owner Paul Viskovich and is trained by Leonard Powell. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $134,000 and is coming off a second in the Nov. 30 Generous.

Better Bet is by Southern Image, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Short Sentence, was bred by Revocable Trust of Dr. Mikel Harrington and Patricia Harrington, is owned by Mike Harrington Trustee and is trained by Mike Harrington.
