DEL MAR, Calif. (July 30, 2025) – California-bred champion Kings River Knight didn’t scare off the competition, as a field of 11 is entered in Saturday’s $150,000 California Dreamin’ Stakes for Golden State Series eligibles at Del Mar.
Kings River Knight is by Acclamation, out of the Poteen mare Seasontoperfection, was bred by Old English Rancho, is owned by Integrity Thoroughbred Racing, The Ellwood Johnston Trust or Tevelde and trained by John Sadler. He has 12 wins in 19 starts, earnings of $770,330 and is coming off a win in the June 21 Bertrando Stakes. He was second in this race in 2023.
Aligato is by Kitten’s Joy, out of the Rock Hard Ten mare Pretty Hard, was bred by Bob Lewald and Joe Mishak, is owned by Double L Racing and trained by Mark Glatt. He has three wins in 19 starts, earnings of $410,232 and is making his first start since a fourth in the Jan. 18 Unusual Heat Turf Classic, presented by City National Bank.
