FRESNO, Calif. (Oct. 6, 2016) – Marino’s Wild Cat, winner of the race two years ago, attempts to duplicate that result in Saturday’s $100,000 Harris Farms Stakes for Golden State Series eligibles at the Fresno Fair.
Jimmy Bouncer is by Square Eddie, out of the General Meeting mare Meetmeinthewoods, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $219,950 and is coming off a second in an Aug. 31 optional claimer.
Algenon is a Kentucky-bred by California stallion Aragorn, out of the Swiss Yodeler mare Alpine Yodel, was bred by owner Rozamund Barclay and is trained by Len Kasmerski. He has three wins in 11 starts, earnings of $100,112 and is coming off a sixth in a Sept. 3 optional claimer.
Overcomer is by Old Topper, out of the Unbridled mare Fasahah, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by Horseplayers Racing club, Joe Regan or Saratoga West and is trained by Jeff Metz. He has four wins in seven starts, earnings of $71,610 and is coming off a second in a Sept. 10 optional claimer.
Marino’s Wild Cat is by marino Marini, out of the Dayjur mare Faxene, was bred by Roy Guinnane, is owned by GCCI and trained by Cliff DeLima. He has eight wins in 18 starts, earnings of $277,862 and is making his first start since a fourth in an Apr. 2 allowance. He won this race two years ago.
Well Measured is by Benchmark, out of the Bertrando mare Miss Thirtyfour D, was bred by Michael & Cory Wellman, is owned by Barber, Wachtel Stable, Wellman or Wellman and is trained by Peter Miller. He has four wins in nine starts, earnings of $210,358 and is coming off consecutive optional claiming wins.
Cartoonist is by comic Strip, out of the Devil On Ice mare Ivy Lane, was bred by Dr. and Mrs. William Gray, is owned by Scott Herbertson and is trained by Jonathon Wong.
