Masochistic, Gimme Da Lute in Sprint

ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 30, 2015) – Grade I winner Masochistic, Grade II winner Gimme Da Lute and fellow California-bred San Onofre are entered in Saturday’s 300,000 Grade I Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes.
Masochistic is by Sought After, out of the Unusual Heat mare Trotinette, was bred by Francoise Dupuis and Louise Jullian, is owned by Los Pollos Hermanos and Jay Em Ess Stables and is trained by Ron Ellis. He has six wins in nine starts, earnings of $583,850 and is coming off a second in the July 26 Bing Crosby.
Gimme Da Lute is by Midnight Lute, out of the Proud Citizen mare Casino Gold and was bred by owners Pegram, Watson and Weitman and is trained by Bob Baffert. He has six wins in nine starts, earnings of $627,560 and is coming off a four stakes win streak.
San Onofre is by Surf Cat, out of the Native Regent mare Marrakech Gold, was bred by Bruce Headley, is owned by Matson Racing and is trained by Karen Headley. He has four wins in nine starts, earnings of $273,040 and is coming off a fourth in the June 27 Triple Bend.
