ALBANY, Calif. (June 3, 2020) – Defending champion Mikes Tiznow, running for the first time since winning this race a year ago, is joined by fellow California-breds Sunset Dragunn and Daddysprize in Saturday’s $50,000 Albany Stakes at Golden Gate.
Mikes Tiznow is by Slew’s Tiznow, out of the Maria’s Mon mare Babes Bridge It, was bred by Eagle Ridge Racing, is owned by Mike Schott and trained by Andy Mathis. He has four wins in eight starts, earnings of $157,555 and is making his first start since winning this race last year.
Sunset Dragunn is by Sierra Sunset, out of the Indian Charlie mare Luke’s Finest, was bred by Lorrie Anthony-Wanger and Oliver Wanger, is owned by La Penita Racing Stable, Gomez or Gonzalez and is trained by Tirso Rivera. He has five wins in 28 starts, earnings of $168,976 and is coming off a third in a Mar. 7 claimer.
Daddysprize is by Scatt Daddy, out of the You and I mare Youtheprizeandi, was bred by owner Jethorse and is trained by Tim McCanna. He has four wins in seven starts, earnings of $114,705 and is coming off a May 17 optional claimer win.
