VANCOUVER, B.C. (July 15, 2024) – Stakes winner Mr. Stang and fellow California-bred Magic Tiger are entered in Tuesday’s $50,000 R.J. Speers Memorial Stakes at Assiniboia Downs.
Mr. Stang is by Atta Boy Roy, out of the Private Gold mare Special Holiday, was bred by Melvin and Lori Mellick, is owned by Maria Moreno and trained by Carlos Moreno. He has eight wins in 25 starts, earnings of $180,435 and is coming off a win in the June 26 Free Press Stakes.
Magic Tiger is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Lucky Pulpit mare Funny Gal, was bred by Robert Heinz & Michelle Machado, is owned by Wind Dancer Stable and Bill Meikle and is trained by Wendy Anderson. He has 12 wins in 32 starts and earnings of $169,767.
