AUBURN, Wash. (June 16, 2021) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Big Duke and fellow California-breds Kowboykabin and Big Endeavor are entered in Sunday’s $50,000 Auburn Stakes for 3-year-old colts and geldings at Emerald Downs.
Big Duke is by Phantom Wildcat, out of the Orientate mare Time On My Hands, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Derrick Hesselin, Juan Munoz, William Rainford and David Williams and is trained by Sergio Ledezma. The $1,200 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has five wins in 11 starts, earnings of $133,668 and is coming off a win in a May 29 optional claimer.
Kowboykabin is by Indian Evening, out of the Globalize mare Cell Line Forever, was bred by owner George Todaro and is trained by Tom Wenzel. He has one win in four starts, earnings of $15,144 and is coming off a fifth in a May 29 optional claimer.
Big Endeavor is by Mr. Big, out of the Taste of Paradise mare Taste the Wild, was bred by Lisa Wall, is owned by Ken Person, Mike Nyland and Eric Amerland and is trained by Person. He has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $44,537 and is coming off a third in a May 26 optional claimer.
