WINNIPEG, Manitoba (July 10, 2025) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate-bred Just Trust Me and fellow California-bred War Is Hell are entered in Monday’s $50,000 Derby Trial Stakes at Assiniboia Downs.
Just Trust Me is by Bodexpress, out of the Kitten’s Joy mare Trust Fund Kitty, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Eugene Burns and Dewey Williams and is trained by Williams. The $3,500 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale out of the Barton Thoroughbreds consignment has five wins in 15 starts, earnings of $125,817 and is coming off a second in the June 24 Golden Boy.
War Is Hell is Om, out of the War Chant mare This Means War, was bred by Harris Farms & John Nicoletti, is owned by Homer Thoroughbreds and trained by Jason Homer. He has one win in 12 starts, earnings of $20,944 and is coming off a July 2 maiden win.
