NorCal Sale Grad Enters Speakeasy Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 29, 2025) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Arkadelphia and fellow California-breds Ventry Strand and Thirsty Rebel are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Speakeasy Stakes for 2-year-olds at Santa Anita.

Ventry Strand is by Bolt d’Oro, out of the Bernardini mare Intermittent, was bred by Mo Forza Partners, is owned by Paul and Karen Eggert and is trained by John Sadler. He won his lone start Sept. 7 with earnings of $48,000.

Arkadelphia is by Halladay, out of the City Zip mare Chili Petin, was bred by HV Bloodstock, is owned by Harrell Ventures and trained by Luis Mendez. He has one win in five starts, earnings of $107,460 and is coming off an Aug. 22 maiden win.

Thirsty Rebel is by Stay Thirsty, out of the Sky Mesa mare Argyle Pink, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Mark Breen and trained by Doug O’Neill. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $67,000 and is coming off a second in the Sept. 5 I’m Smokin.
