DEL MAR, Calif. (July 20, 2018) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Oliver was a 5 ¼-length winner of Friday’s sixth race at Del Mar, a $61,725 maiden special weight for California-bred 2-year-olds.
Oliver is a colt by Papa Clem, out of the Premiership mare Snobby Princess, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by William Peeples and trained by Luis Mendes.
The $30,000 purchase at last year’s Northern California Yearling Sale has a win, a second and a third in three starts with earnings of $51,080. He ran the five furlongs in :58.91 and went off as the 8-5 favorite in a field of 10.
This year’s Northern California Yearling Sale will be held on Tuesday, August 14, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
