ARCADIA, Calif. (June 3, 2022) – Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Ceiling Crusher won at first asking in Friday’s first race at Santa Anita, a $68,000 maiden special weight race for state-bred 2-year-old fillies.
The daughter of Mr. Big, out of the Indian Charlie mare Palisadesprincess, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Dan Northrup and trained by Luis Mendez.
She was a $22,000 purchase at last year’s Northern California Yearling Sale by Tari Brocklebank, agent. Sent off as the 8-5 favorite, Ceiling Crusher ran the five furlongs in :58.70 and won by 4 ¾ lengths in a field of seven.
This year’s Northern California Yearling Sale will be held Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
