ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2015) – California breeder Terry Lovingier and the Northern California Yearling Sale combined for an unusual feat in the third race at Santa Anita on Oct. 22.
The top three finishers of the race, all bred by Lovingier, also went through the sale that is held each summer by the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association in Pleasanton. Lovingier is on the CTBA board of directors.
The winner of the race, Suavamente, is by Grace Upon Grace, out of the Proud Irish mare Air Force Woman and was a $50,000 purchase. Second was Star Express, by Bushwacker, out of the Orientate mare Ballerina Angel and was an $18,000 purchase. Third was Dinner At Trani’s, by Awesome Gambler, out of the El Prado mare Sobresaliente and was bought back.
