ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 12, 2014) – Five California-bred stakes winners, including Harris Farms Stakes winner Marino’s Wild Cat, are entered in Saturday’s $50,000 Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate.
Marino’s Wild Cat is by Marino Marini, out of the Dayjur mare Faxene, was bred by Roy Guinnane, is owned by GCCI and trained by Cliff DeLima. He has five wins in nine starts, earnings of $157,410 and is coming off a win in the Oct. 5 Harris Farms.
Ain’t No Other is by Old Topper, out of the Shadeed mare Miami Margie, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has 10 wins in 39 starts, earnings of $616,645 and is coming off a fourth in the Oct. 5 Harris Farms. He was fifth in this race last year and third in 2012.
Mandala is by Benchmark, out of the Rehaan mare Kriskeri, was bred by Rhianon Farms & Don Smith, is owned by Rhianon Farms and Gloria Haley and is trained by Haley. He has three wins in 19 starts, earnings of $116,029 and is coming off two consecutive allowance wins.
Life Is a Joy is by Globalize, out of the Indian Charlie mare Tadita, was bred by owners Jerry and Janet Hollendorfer and George Todaro and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $198,850 and is making his first start since a second in the Apr. 5 Echo Eddie.
A Toast to You is by Tribal Rule, out of the Apollo mare Whitewinesipper, was bred by Hidden Meadows Farm, is owned by Steve Moger and trained by Ed Moger Jr. He has eight wins in 29 starts, earnings of $478,262 and is coming off a second in the Oct. 5 Harris Farms.
