SHAKOPEE, Minn. (Aug. 26, 2017) – Multiple stakes winning California-bred Patriots Rule went from last to first to win Saturday’s $50,000 Brooks Fields Stakes at Canterbury Park.
Patriots Rule is by Tribal Rule, out of the Seattle Bound mare Candy Factory, was bred by Dahlberg Farms, is owned by Charles Garvey and trained by Robertino Diodoro.
He has eight wins in 31 starts, earnings of $496,773 and was coming off a second in a July 27 optional claimer.
Patriots Rule ran the mile in 1:36.17 and won by one-half length at odds of 5-1 in the field of six. The race was run on a muddy dirt track after originally scheduled to be run on the turf.
