Patriots Rule Wins Johnston Head Bob

CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 5, 2014) – Odds-on favorite Patriots Rule rallied steadily through the stretch to take a desperate nose decision over Eddie’s First in Friday’s $75,000 E.B. Johnston Stakes for California-bred 3-year-olds at Los Alamitos.

Patriots Rule is by Tribal Rule, out of the Seattle Bound mare Candy Factory, was bred by Dahlberg Farms, is owned by Charles Garvey and trained by Robertino Diodoro.

He has three wins in nine starts, earnings of $186,680 and was coming off a second in the Aug. 1 Real Good Deal.

Patriots Rule ran the 6 ½ furlongs in 1:14.60 at odds of 4-5 in the field of five, with longshot Arctic Code finishing third.
