ALBANY, Calif. (Nov. 27, 2015) – Defending champion Pepper Crown and fellow California-bred graded stakes winners Tamarando and G. G. Ryder are entered in Sunday’s $100,000 Grade III Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate.
Pepper Crown is by Peppered Cat, out of the Crowning Storm mare Crown This Lady, was bred by owner and trainer Alex Paszkeicz. He has nine wins in 28 starts, earnings of $377,688 and is coming off a third in a Nov. 6 allowance. He won this race last year.
Tamarando is by Bertrando, out of the Dehere mare Tamarack Bay, was bred by owners Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams and is trained by Jeff Bonde. He has four wins in 20 starts, earnings of $674,555 and is coming off a fifth in a Nov. 6 allowance
G. G. Ryder is by Chhaya Dance, out of the Storm Boot mare Stormy Gigi, was bred by Eagle Oak Ranch, is owned by Jerry Hollendorfer and George Todaro and is trained by Hollendorfer. He has 11 wins in 24 starts, earnings of $443,294 and is coming off a second in a Nov. 6 allowance. He was second in this race last year.
Poshky is by Vronsky, out of the Bold Badgett mare Pinky’s Posh, was bred by Old English Rancho and Berumen, is owned by Silver Ranch Stable or Wachtel Stable and is trained by Peter Miller. He has five wins in 21 starts, earnings of $253,320 and is coming off a Nov. 6 allowance win.
