Phantom Boss, El Tigre Terrible in Desert Code

ARCADIA, Calif. (June 3, 2020) – Stakes winners Phantom Boss and El Tigre Terrible and fellow California-bred Rookie Mistake are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Desert Code Stakes for 3-year-olds at Santa Anita.

Phantom Boss is by Shackleford, out of the Street Boss mare Bossy Belle, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Beckerle, Lovingier or Navarro, et al, and is trained by Jorge Periban. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $135,201 and is coming off a fifth in the May 16 Echo Eddie.

El Tigre Terrible is by Smiling Tiger, out of the Gotham City mare King City Kitty, was bred by Martin Bach, is owned by Slam Dunk Racing or Nentwig and is trained by Peter Miller. He has three wins in five starts, earnings of $118,300 and is making his first start since a win in the Oct. 6 Speakeasy.

Rookie Mistake is by Square Eddie, out of the General Meeting mare Meetmeinthewoods, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has two wins in eight starts, earnings of $132,075 and is coming off a second in the May 16 Echo Eddie.
