Phoenix Gold Cup Draws Tapatio Leo

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Mar. 18, 2025) – California-breds Tapatio Leo, Bridleuptothebar and Prayer of Jabez are entered in Saturday’s rescheduled $50,000 Phoenix Gold Cup at Turf Paradise.

Tapatio Leo is by Stay Thirsty, out of the Rio Verde mare Sweet Lips Pooh, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by Griffin Stables LLC, Lovinger, Terry C., Navarro, Amanda, Ryan, Michael John and Moroney, John and trained by Craig Dollase. He has five wins in nine starts, earnings of $268,339 and is coming off a third in the Mar. 7 Eclipse Stakes.

Bridleuptothebar is by Fullbridled, out of the Thisnearlywasmine mare Nearlycocktailtime, was bred by Mark Rydman and Holly Rydman, is owned by Holly Rydman and is trained by Valorie Lund. He has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $113,535 and is coming off a third in a Feb. 11 optional claimer.

Prayer of Jabez is by Stanford, out of the Kafwain mare Alwazabridesmaid, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by Anthony DeMarco and trained by Edward Kereluk. He has seven wins in 33 starts, earnings of $217,526 and is coming off a win in a Feb. 11 optional claimer. He was fourth in this race last year.
