California Chrome is using the race as a prep for the $12 million Pegasus Challenge. Howdy is by Sundarban, out of the Momentum mare Foxy Babe, was bred by Crystal Valley Farms, is owned by Alesia, Ciaglia Racing or Crystal Valley and is trained by Peter Eurton. He has three wins in 18 starts, earnings of $181,030 and is coming off a ninth in an Oct. 30 optional claimer.
Presidentsky is by Vronsky, out of the Unusual Heat mare Presidential Heat, was bred by Barry Abrams, Madeline Auerbach and Huston Racing Stables, is owned by Battle Born Racing, Ferrara or Girdner, et al and is trained by John Brocklebank.
