ALBANY, Calif. (Feb. 10, 2021) – California-bred stakes winners Positivity and Play Chicken and Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Govenor’s Party are entered in Saturday’s $100,000 El Camino Real Derby for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate.
Graduation Stakes winner Positivity is by Paynter, out of the City Zip mare Sam’s Sunny City, was bred by Allen Farm, is owned by Charles Winner, Annie Winner or Justyn Winner and is trained by Patrick Gallagher. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $122,000 and is coming off a fifth in the Jan. 16 California Cup Derby.
King Glorious Stakes winner Play Chicken is by Square Eddie, out of the Distorted Humor mare Smoove, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $98,000 and is coming off seventh in the Jan. 16 California Cup Derby.
Govenor’s Party is by Govenor Charlie, out of the Zensational mare Spring Moon, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by trainer Daniel Franko. The $1,500 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has two wins in six starts, earnings of $33,670 and is coming off a Jan. 29 starter’s allowance win.
