CHARLES TOWN, W.V. – July 17, 2020 – ThoroughbredAuctions.Com announces the complete dispersal of Thoroughbreds owned by the late R.D. Hubbard. The auction will be an internet only auction, with bidding opening on Tuesday, July 21st and closing on Tuesday July 28th. The online catalog is available at ThroughbredAuctions.com.

R.D. Hubbard was an icon in the horse racing industry. He raced both Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses. Some of his more prominent Thoroughbreds include such luminaries as Corwyn Bay (IRE), Gentlemen (ARG), Stravinsky and many more.

Hubbard bought Ruidoso Downs in 1988 with partner Dr. Ed Allred, and eventually became the sole owner until he sold it in 2017. He helped create the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, and as a member of NTRA’s board of directors, he co-founded its Racing Integrity and Drug Testing Task Force.

He also built and operated The Woodlands, a dual greyhound and racehorse facility in Kansas City, Kansas. In addition, Hubbard has been chairman of Hollywood Park and Turf Paradise, and he headed a group that was awarded the license to build Zia Park in 2003.

 The auction features Attila’s Storm, Multiple Stakes Winner of $534,983, national and regional leading sire with 74% of his starters winning and $56,282 Average Earning, $13.3 Million Lifetime Progeny Earnings and Champion NM TB Sire 2016-2019.

The auction will also feature NM bred Yearlings, Weanlings, Horses of Racing Age and Broodmares.
