ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 3, 2024) – California-sired stakes winner R Heisman and California-bred Cali Cat are entered in Sunday’s $100,000 Grade III Zuma Beach Stakes for 2-year-olds at Santa Anita.
R Heisman is a Kentucky-bred by California stallion Far From Over, out of the First American mare Parisienne, was bred by Highclere, is owned by Gary Barber and trained by Peter Miller. He has two wins in five starts, earnings of $121,200 and is coming off a fifth in the Sept. 8 Del Mar Futurity.
Cali Cat is by American Pharoah, out of the More Than Ready mare Ready for Romance, was bred by Thomas Bachman, is owned by Hronis Racing and trained by John Sadler. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $45,500 and is coming off an Aug. 30 maiden win.
