Retired Thoroughbreds to Benefit from Their Art

From After the Finish Line

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2024) — ReRun Thoroughbred Adoption and After the Finish Line announce after nearly two years the Moneigh Auctions will resume with the first auction to be hosted on eBay starting Sunday, October 20 and ending Sunday, October 27 at 6p PT/9p ET. Bid at, ebay.com/str/rerunthoroughbred. Eighteen original Moneighs by horses that have raced in and/or won Breeders’ Cup races are up for bid. This includes Cody’s Wish, Serena’s Song, Authentic, Kitten’s Joy, Afleet Alex, Blame, Ghostzapper, Midshipman, and more.

Moneighs are abstract artwork created by Thoroughbreds using their lips, muzzle, hoof, and/or whiskers. The name is derived from the artist, Monet, and the neigh of a horse. Moneigh is a registered trademark of ReRun, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rehabilitates and retrains Off Track Thoroughbreds for adoption in New York. In partnership with After the Finish Line, a California Off Track Thoroughbred charity that awards grants, we paint with the premier stallions and broodmares in Kentucky to create sought after original paintings and prints that are auctioned or sold to benefit both organizations.

“This new collaboration between charities means proceeds will help even more Off Track Thoroughbreds in need. The Moneighs are back with a fresh new look and exciting new stallion, broodmare and pony horse artists for racing fans”, said Lisa Molloy, Executive Director of ReRun Thoroughbred Adoption. “Racing fans can bid on their favorite Thoroughbreds that they once followed on the racetrack. Moneighs are a way to connect with the legends of horse racing, said Dawn Mellen, President of After the Finish Line.
