CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 4, 2014) – California Dreamin’ Handicap winner Rock Me Baby and streaking Masochistic are among four California-breds entered in Saturday’s $200,000 Los Alamitos Mile Stakes.
Masochistic is by Sought After, out of the Unusual Heat mare Trotinette, was bred by Francoise Dupuis & Louise Julian, is owned by Los Pollos Hermanos Racing and Santa Ines Stable and is trained by A.C. Avila. He has three wins in four starts, earnings of $137,050 and has a three-race win streak.
California Dreamin’ Handicap winner Rock Me Baby is by Rock Hard Ten, out of the Tale of the Cat mare Barbara Orr, was bred by Mercedes Stable, is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and trained by Craig Dollase. He has six wins in 16 starts, earnings of $411,802 and is coming off a second in the Aug. 24 Del Mar Mile.
Bertrando Stakes winner Soi Phet is by Tizbud, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Jersey, was bred by ARCHA Racing, is owned by Gerald Benowitz, Sandra Powell and Paul and Mathilde Viskovich and is trained by Leonard Powell. He has seven wins in 28 starts, earnings of $342,686 and is coming off a seventh in the July 26 San Diego Handicap.
Kate’s Event is by Event of the Year, out of the Mane Minister mare Nordidid, was bred by owner William Ziering and trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has eight wins in 27 starts, earnings of $446,122 and is coming off an Aug. 14 claiming win.
