Safa Seeks First Stakes Win in Monrovia

ARCADIA, Calif. (Mar. 31, 2025) – CTBA January Sale graduate Safa is the lone California-bred entered in Saturday’s $100,000 Grade III Monrovia Stakes, presented by Don Julio, for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.

Safa is by Grazen, out of the Harlan’s Holiday mare Hadarra, was bred by Derek Lawson, is owned by Bisharat or Khoury and is trained by Gary Stute.

The $23,000 purchase at the CTBA January Sale has four wins in 20 starts, earnings of $344,600 and is coming off a second in a Mar. 7 optional claimer.
