Masochistic is by Sought After, out of the Unusual Heat mare Trotinette, was bred by Francoise Dupuis & Louis Julian, is owned by Los Pollos Hermanos Racing and Jay Em Ess Stable and is trained by Ron Ellis. He has four wins in six starts, earnings of $223,850 and is coming off a win in a Feb. 28 optional claimer.
San Onofre is by Surf Cat, out of the Native Regent mare Marrakech Gold, was bred by Bruce Headley, is owned by Matson Racing and trained by Karen Headley. He has four wins in six starts, earnings of $195,040 and is coming off a second in the Jan. 24 Donald Valpredo California Cup Sprint.
California Cup Sprint winner Spirit Rules is by Tribal Rule, out of the Danzatore mare Heavenly Lady, was bred by John and Allegra Ernst, is owned by Murphy, Accardy, Seidler, Xitco and Xitco and is trained by Paul Aguirre. He has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $327,378 and is coming off a third in the Feb. 21 Sensational Star.
