ARCADIA, Calif. (Sept. 23, 2015) – China Doll Stakes winner Singing Kitty and fellow California-bred Desert Steel are entered in Saturday’s $70,000 Unzip Me Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Santa Anita.
Desert Steel is by Desert Code, out of the Cozzene mare Lujien Lujien, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Alice Bamford, Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and Michael House and is trained by Simon Callaghan. She has three wins in eight starts, earnings of $178,924 and is coming off a back-to-back allowance wins.
Singing Kitty is by Ministers Wild Cat, out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Natural Singer R N, was bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, is owned by Chris Aulds and Peter Jeong and is trained by Matthew Chew. She has four wins in 11 starts, earnings of $264,948 and is coming off a second in the Aug. 14 Sandy Blue.
