Soi Phet Among Johnston Entrants

CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2015) – Multiple stakes winner Soi Phet is one of three sons of Tizbud among the entries in Saturday’s $75,000 E.B. Johnston Stakes for California-breds at Los Alamitos.

Multiple stakes winner Soi Phet is by Tizbud, out of the Siberian Summer mare Summer Jersey, was bred by ARCHA Racing, is owned by Gerald Benowitz, Sandra Powell and Mathilde and Paul Viskovich and is trained by Leonard Powell. He has eight wins in 36 starts, earnings of $493,728 and is coming off a third in an Aug. 22 optional claimer.

Chanito is by Surf Cat, out of the Dynaformer mare Lover Come Back, was bred by Liberty Road Stables, is owned by Pedro Perez and trained by Louis Bradvica. He is a maiden making his 13th start with earnings of $16,802.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Spud Spivens is by Tizbud, out of the Cutlass Reality mare Oceans Reality, was bred by Harris Farms, is owned by Audrey and Vincent Marchionno and is trained by Gerard Piccioni. The $4,500 Northern California Yearling Sale purchase has four wins in 32 starts, earnings of $285,542 and is coming off a fifth in an Apr. 19 optional claimer.

Stakes winner Ambitious Brew is by Tizbud, out of the Forest Wildcat mare Kathwen, was bred by owner Pamela Ziebarth and is trained by Martin Jones. He has four wins in 13 starts, earnings of $296,130 and is coming off a fifth in the July 26 California Dreamin’.

Avanti Bello is by Include, out of the Mizzen Mast mare Masterful Lass, was bred by Lou Neve, is owned by Keh, Richardson, Suarez, Roberts and Wonderland Stables and is trained by Doug O’Neill. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $20,780 and is coming off a sixth in an Aug. 29 allowance.

Storm Comin Thru is by Stormy Jack, out of the Strodes Creek mare Watershed Park, was bred by Gary and Marlene Howard, is owned by Great Friends Stable, Wonderland Racing Stables and Robert Cspelo and is trained by Doug O’Neill.
