From CHRB ARCADIA, Calif. (Oct. 29, 2013) — At the October 24 meeting of the California Horse Racing Board, a discussion took place concerning an agreement entered into among Del Mar, Santa Anita, Los Alamitos and the Thoroughbred Owners of California addressing issues relating to: (1) where thoroughbreds will be stabled in Southern California in 2014 and 2015; (2) how funds will be allocated to pay for such stabling, and (3) the parties’ view of how they would apply to the CHRB for racing dates.
Because the agreement contains information about the parties’ respective financial commitments, the parties provided it to the CHRB on a confidential basis in anticipation of the October 24 meeting.
In view of the discussion at the meeting, the parties have decided that it is in the best interests of the racing industry to release the agreement publicly, and have requested that the CHRB post it on its website. The agreement can be found under the Publications link on the CHRB Website (www.chrb.ca.gov).
