DEL MAR, Calif. (July 27, 2025) – Stakes winners Style Cat, Shea Brennan, Drop Um and Speedy Wilson are entered in Friday’s contentious $150,000 Real Good Deal Stakes for Golden State Series eligible 3-year-olds at Del Mar.
Style Cat is by Curlin to Mischief, out of the Kitten’s Joy mare Kittens Trip, was bred by owners J. Kirk and Judy Robison and is trained by Peter Miller. She has three wins in 12 starts, earnings of $230,490 and is coming off a sixth in the May 24 Snow Chief Stakes, presented by City National Bank.
Shea Brennan is by Tough Sunday, out of the Old Topper mare Carrie Rose, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Phil D’Amato. She has two wins in six starts, earnings of $177,850 and is coming off a second in the Jan. 18 California Chrome Cal Cup Derby.
Last Call Zondlo is by Stay Thirsty, out of the Empire Way mare Zu Lu’s Lov, was bred by Terry Lovingier, is owned by London, Lovingier or Moroney and is trained by Craig Dollase. He has one win in three starts, earnings of $29,100 and is coming off a sixth in a June 1 optional claimer.
Drop Um is by Far From Over, out of the Include mare Behavioral, was bred by Mr. & Mrs William Gray, is owned by Gray Farms and is trained by Felix Rondan. He has two wins in six starts, earnings of $115,300 and is coming off a fourth in the May 24 Snow Chief Stakes.
Speedy Wilson is by Tough Sunday, out of the Ministers Wild Cat mare Queenofhercastle, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Phil D’Amato. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $156,150 and is coming off a win in the Nov. 1 Golden State Juvenile Stakes. He is a half-brother to recent Grade I Bing Crosby winner Lovesick Blues.
Check’s On the Way is by Mrazek, out of the Scat Daddy mare Taffeta, was bred by owner Reddam Racing and trained by Simon Callaghan. He has three wins in eight starts, earnings of $101,540 and is coming off a June 8 optional claiming win.
Western Freedom is by American Freedom, out of the Western Fame mare Western Kitty, was bred by KMN Racing, is owned by Legacy Ranch and trained by Brian Koriner. He has two wins in four starts, earnings of $82,700 and is coming off a seventh in the May 24 Snow Chief Stakes.
Keithing Thunder is by Mesa Thunder, out of the Sought After mare Solar Event, is owned by breeder Deborah Gourman and trained by Brendan Galvin. He is a maiden making his fifth start.
