ALBANY, Calif. (May 7, 2021) – California stallion Stanford was represented by his first winner on Friday when debuting odds-on favorite Heaven Shines went wire to wire in the fourth race at Golden Gate.
Heaven Shines is out of the Speightstown mare Light Up the Sky, was bred by owner Tommy Town Thoroughbreds and trained by Jonathan Wong.
The 2-year-old colt won the maiden special weight by 2 ¾ lengths at odds of 1-5 in the field of four and ran the 4 ½ furlongs in :53.44.
