OCEANPORT, N.J. (Sept. 25, 2020) – Favored Stay Smart, a New Jersey-bred daughter of California stallion Stay Thirsty and is out of the mare for which the race is named, won Saturday’s $79,500 Smart N Classy Handicap for fillies and mares at Monmouth Park.
Stay Smart, out of the Smart Strike mare Smart N Classy, ran the mile in 1:38.87 and won by 2 ¼ lengths at odds of 7-5 in the field of nine.
Stay Smart has five wins in 17 starts, earnings of $245,520 and was coming off a Sept. 20 optional claiming win.
