ARCADIA, Calif. (Dec. 27, 2015) – Multiple stakes winner Sunday Rules and defending champion Harlington’s Rose are among five California-breds entered in Wednesday’s $75,000 Kalookan Queen Stakes for fillies and mares at Santa Anita.
Kiss At Midnight is by Decarchy, out of the Distinctive Cat mare Mink Kiss, was bred by Steven Greco, is owned by Marasa, Messineo or Robershaw, et al and is trained by Richard Baltas. She has four wins in 10 starts, earnings of $253,200 and is coming off a second in the Nov. 8 Betty Grable.
Lost Bus is by Bring the Heat, out of the Stravinsky mare Frysland, was bred by John Haagsma and Wesley Ward, is owned by Terry Lovingier and trained by Gary Sherlock. She has two wins in nine starts, earnings of $124,030 and is coming off a second in a Dec. 13 optional claimer.
Sunday Rules is by Tribal Rule, out of the General Meeting mare Sunday Dress, was bred by owner Nick Alexander and is trained by Phil D’Amato. She has six wins in seven starts, earnings of $384,900 and is coming off a Nov. 22 optional claiming win.
Dancingthenightaway is by Indian Charlie, out of the General Meeting mare Last Dance for Me, was bred by owners Al and Sandee Kirkwood and is trained by Mark Glatt. She has three wins in five starts, earnings of $150,120 and is coming off a second in a Nov. 22 optional claimer.
Defending champion Harlington’s Rose is by Harlington, out of the Orientate mare A Rose for You, was bred by Y-Lo Racing Stabale, is owned by Halasz, Johnson or Newhart , et al and is trained by Steve Knapp. She has four wins in 28 starts, earnings of $387,290 and is coming off a seventh in the Nov. 8 Betty Grable. She won this race last year.
