From Ballena Vista Farm
RAMONA, Calif (Oct. 31, 2017)- Warren Williamson’s homebred and multiple stakes winner Texas Ryano has been retired and will stand at Ballena Vista Farm in Ramona, Calif., as the property of a partnership for a $3,500 fee.
Texas Ryano is a 6-year-old son of leading sire Curlin that earned $455,045; he took the Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes (Gr. 2) by three and three quarters lengths as well as the King Pellinore Stakes and overall captured five races and hitting the board eleven of his twenty-two starts. Texas Ryano broke his maiden in his debut in impressive form at three years of age in January of that season, and as a result was named a TDN rising star.
Texas Ryano is out of the graded stakes winner Blending Element ($448,483); who is a multiple stakes producer of five blacktype winners and two additional blacktype placers from nine foals to race, all winners. Blending Element’s nine foals to race have earnings in excess of $2.1 million.
As the only stakes winner by Curlin to stand in the west, Texas Ryano brings to California breeders a prolific sire line and from a dam whose foals competed at the highest levels in California racing.
Carla Gaines, trainer of Texas Ryano, “I found Texas Ryano to be a lovely well-made, very balanced talented horse that demonstrated the qualities of his sire line and the racing abilities of his half siblings in top flight company.”
