Tivan Seeks Second Stakes Victory

DEL MAR, Calif. (Nov. 29, 2018) – Unbeaten stakes winner Tivan, Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Rey Coliman and fellow California-bred Gobsmack are entered in Saturday’s $75,000 Gold Rush Stakes for 2-year-olds at Golden Gate.

Tivan is by Indian Evening, out of the Precocity mare Zak’s Precocity, was bred by owner KMN Racing and is trained by Jerry Hollendorfer. He has won both of his starts with earnings of $60,350 and is coming off a win in the Nov. 10 Golden Nugget.

Northern California Yearling Sale graduate Rey Coliman is by Fort Larned, out of the Singing Saint mare Heavenly Dream, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, is owned by Ruben Arechiga or Felix Rondan and is trained by Rondan. The $1,700 purchase at the Northern California Yearling Sale has one win in five starts, earnings of $33,133 and is coming off a second in an Oct. 27 optional claimer.

Gobsmack is by Vronsky, out of the Limehouse mare Florida Pearl, was bred by owner Stephen Post and is trained by Michael Lenzini. He has one win in two starts, earnings of $21,225 and is coming off a Sept. 16 maiden win.
